The Loxwood Joust
The Loxwood Meadow, Loxwood, West Sussex - Saturday 3 & 10 and Sunday 4 & 11 August

Now in its eighth year, The Loxwood Joust is described as “two weekends of mediæval mayhem” and is a unique, fun and educational day out for all the family. From 10am to 6pm, visitors can see an all-action jousting tournament, stage performances from singing group the Mediæval Baebes on 3 and 4 August, with Trobar de Morte from Spain performing on 10 and 11, wandering minstrels, a battle camp and marketplace. In addition, companies of actors, a court jester and dance troupes all compete for attention. Activities include have-a-go archery, face and wound painting, pelt the peasant and a sword school. Gilbert Savage, the executioner, returns with his rack, a replica of one used in the Tower of London. New for 2019 are the Faerie Realm and pagan wedding site. With plenty to eat, drink and be merry about, an experience not to be missed.
